Letter of Recommendation Gifts?

HI, I'm not sure if this is the correct forum, but oh well

So I submitted my application two days ago and I would like to thank my recommenders and my guidance counselor.
My mom thinks I should give them a gift worth $30 something; I'm totally opposed to that.

For one, I only know one of the teachers well, and even then, I don't want to give them like materialistic(?) impression....
I do go to a private school, so I don't know if teachers expect that kinda gift( I assume they don't though)
And plus, it's part of their job right? (unofficially)

I was thinking of homemade cupcakes w/ coffee and a thank-you letter. Does that sound sufficient?

What do you think? What did you guys get your recommenders?

Homemade treats are perfect or a small gift of under $15 value is great. BTW it is part of their official job description to write these letters.

A thank you note is fine, if you don’t want to give them something materialistic. I gave my letter writer Starbucks gift cards, but really, just a thank you note is fine.
