Letter of recommendation postage

Sorry if this was asked already but I can't seem to locate the search function on this forum anymore. Just wondering what common etiquette would be for requesting a letter of recommendation from a professor in another country. The person I have in mind relocated from Berkeley to the Mediterranean. I don't want to burden that person with the cost of international postage but google isn't giving me any answers for how much it would cost to mail to the US from that country (only from the US as an origin and that country as the destination). Also, even if I did find that out, I don't know how it would work enclosing a check because of the different currencies.

Thanks for the help!

Bump.

Hoping someone who has had to ask for a letter of rec internationally will shed some light on this. :)

Sorry, bumping once more…

Maybe if I specify that the country in question is Greece, that will spark some answers? :)
