Letter of recommendation

Hi guys,

I have some questions regarding what factors make a good LOR.
Today, I went to one of my professors and asked to write me a LOR and she said that her policy for LOR is that a student must submit a recommendation to professor and she will change some parts and put other important information.

So, what is the most important factor for good LOR. If you are an admission officer, what do you look for in LOR??

i would include specific memories in the class when you contributed to the discussion in a unique way. if a professor shows that she really knows you and describes things about you now shown by your ec’s and essays/gpa then that is very good.

First of all, I would argue that her policy of students writing their own recommendations and sending them in for editing is a bad and immoral one. I would feel extremely uncomfortable writing about myself in the third person.

Putting that aside…

You can write about how you contributed to the class, your special qualities, anything that makes you stand out.
