Wow, thanks Fruttivendolo for all the info. sounds great!!! and yes i think im gonna try to sign up for a royal’s night. thanks again and hope all is well for you!

tellch00, I applied to TCNJ, Scranton, Loyola Maryland, American, and Catholic U. My final decision came down to TCNJ, Scranton, and Loyola. It’s not that Loyola was bad, just that Scranton was a better fit for me. I like the feel of a smaller city, and people tended to dress up more for classes at Loyola, and that’s just not something I’m comfortable with. There were a lot of little things that added up, and all the signs pointed to Scranton. Either way, it’s still a Jesuit school, you can’t go wrong.

And you’re welcome, tab, good luck with your decision!

For those who wonder why the cost @ Scranton has gone up and $$$ awarded as scholarships are down, or at best stagnant … its simple economics. Scranton has just completed a heck of a lot of construction, new facilities, new labs, new housing, new gyms, etc. Someone has to pay for this… and that someone is YOU!!! Bound to soon lose its Best Values college ranking in US News. A very nice school, but the reality is, how many people are willing to spend close to $50k a year to go to school in Scranton, PA? For that sort of money you can go to school in Boston, New York, Washington, etc and if the big cities are not for you, $50k will but you admittance at thousands of other colleges! Wow, $50k! The new few years will see if U. Scranton has over played its hand!

^ Agreed thats why I’m transferring. I really like the school but 47, 000 a year is too much.

For those of you who recieved scholarships, when did you send your application in? Did you feel that the earlier it was sent, the more likely you were to recieve merit money?

^^I received a scholarship and I sent my application in by the early action deadline of November 15. According to the U, they evaluate all accepted students for merit scholarships, but with most colleges it seems like you have a better chance at getting money if you send it in earlier. You’re better off getting your application in early, anyway- it’s less to worry about during senior year!

Plus, if you’re applying for physical therapy (which I assume from your name that you are), the program has limited space, so in that case, you’d definitely want to get it in early.
