Letter Saying That They're Reading My Application

I just got a letter in the mail today saying that they're looking at my application. Although it was nice of them to send it, I guess, I totally was hoping that it was an acceptance letter telling me that I was an Alumni Memorial scholar. It was First Class Mail and everything. I guess I shoud have known since it was a thin envalope. Bummer. Did anyone else get one of these letters?

what is the post date?

Valentine's Day (Feb. 14th)

my son received the same letter today. although it had a 'handwritten' note on the bottom, I have a feeling that this is a form letter that is going out to all of the applicants.

yes, my son received this also with the "handwritten note" at bottom. I'm sure it is indeed a form letter but I must say I have been very impressed with all the materials that Colgate produces. All of their catalogues and pamphlets are very well designed with beautiful photography and very nicely printed. And the admissions office is so friendly - so nice to see a school that really makes a nice effort.

Yeah really impressed too....

Colgate wasn't my first choice... but now taking a good look at their brochures and catalogues.. Colgate is really appealing

My sister and I were so excited when we got the mail today and saw a big white envelope from Colgate (sent First Class, 8x11 envelope). It was just the letter and a brochure! Great to receive them, but I wish they had another kind of packaging to use!

I agree, darn them for getting our hopes up! lol :)

Yep. They got us yesterday, too. LOL. Darn.

i got one, and im a below average colgate appliacnt, so its for everyone...

I Got one too! Seeing the big envelope i thought that it was their decision but then seeing that it was just a form letter...lol i wuz like "aww crap!"

I didn't get one, and I just found out that I got into the Alumni Scholar thing for what it's worth

OH, that's a bad sign.:(

So, what is the purpose of Colgate spending the time and money to send a letter like this? I guess they have to give you something for your $55 application fee.

Do they send this letter to all applicant who are not selected as AM Scholar?

The letter does not appear to be connected with your AMS status at all as D received both.

They send them every year and usually with a personal note on the bottom from Gary Ross (Dean of Admissions). Colgate does take a personal approach to all they do. If you are accepted, you will be very impressed with all the "little touches."

I still haven't receive that letter...

haha,I reveived that letter, too. By the way Colgate sends me so many postcards even though I am below thair average students. Weirdd...

Colgate don't send me anything... even not the Im reading your application thingie
