<p>I was surfing around CC when I noticed someone mention his/her counsellor suggested that him/her use the extra space on common app to explain his low math grades. I have a "similar situation". I have some stress-related skin and stomach problem, which has caused me to be absent for on average 1.5 day a month for the last 3 years (have three types of medication for it now). Do I need send a short letter explaining my situation to the officers, in case they've been wondering about the absence? Or should I not?</p>

<p>Did you send a letter? I also have a medical condition and I was wondering if I should do the same? I'm worried that if I send them a letter, they'll assume that I'll have this problem in college and do poorly at their college.</p>
<p>I'm an international student, so my situation is probably different from yours. May be some other CC members can answer this question?</p>
