Thanks! :)

I didn't get a letter either, and I applied for financial aid. If this is reassuring at all, you're not alone!

I repeatedly asked similar questions when my daughter was in the process of applying and was repeatedly assured that Fin Aid is COMPLETELY separate from admissions, so getting/not getting a letter from Fin Aid should have no bearing on your admissions status.

FA may send letters only to those whose FA apps are missing something, or they may review the FA in batches. They do preliminary FA for everyone, whether they accept you or not. So churchmusicmom is right; do not stress about this.

We got FA inquiries that were so convincing we were positive D would be accepted, but no, she wasn't.

It didn't matter. Her heart belonged to Barnard.

mythmom, maybe Barnard does the process differently?

Ummm so does this mean those of us who didn't get letters are out of the running?

Churchmusicmom and mythmom, should I call the financial aid office?

Mishka1, no your receipt of or failure to receive a letter from Fin Aid has NO BEARING on your admissions status. The two things are completely separate (that's what "need-blind" means).

Your not getting a letter probably means one of two things: they have either not gotten around to reviewing your fin aid info (which they do for every applicant) or they have everything they need from you.
