I just wanted to be clearwhen a school like Columbia or Princeton sends you emails and envelopes to apply to their school, does that have any significance?
Thanks!

not so much.

okay thanks!

Well, it means you probably at the very least have a shot at the school. They don’t send those envelopes to EVERYONE.

While it’s true they don’t send the envelopes to everyone, they send them to thousands and thousands more people than they can ever admit. Sure, if you get a 1500 (out of 2400), you probably won’t get one. But just getting the envelope doesn’t mean you’re particularly qualified. They want as many people to apply as possible, but they’re still going to reject 94 out of every 100 applicants.

^such an ugly statistic to be faced with as an applicant this year. lol good luck people. and yeah, the letter don’t mean a thing, sorry bud
