Letters in the mail

So I received a little letter welcoming me to the class of 2015 with a little sticker type thing. Are we getting any type of big envelope or is this it?

That’s odd. I got a large purple folder, as did all the others I heard about.

The car decal and letter were from an NYU student organization. My son received the same thing. No purple folder yet…

Oh, okay. I’m on Long Island so I’m kind of confused as to why i haven’t received the large purple folder yet…

I received the large purple folder yesterday and the sticker today. I live on Long island too.

^^^^ i live in queens, and I just got the letter and the sticker. I accidently made a thread on this (weird acceptance?). was the letter from a student graduating this year?

i also didn’t get the packet yet

Do LSP people get the folder?

ok, this may be good/bad news, but i did contact the person whose name was signed, and this wa her response…

Hi “good4college”,

I am very sorry for the confusion. This happened with some other students also.

I cannot tell you if you were officially accepted to NYU. You have to receive an official letter. However, I will tell you that I only sent that letter to students that you were accepted to the NYU Class of 2015. So if you got the letter from me, that should tell you something.

If you have any questions please call the NYU Welcome Center at (212) 998-4550.

Best of luck to you!

Katie

I’m going to assume they’re just being mailed out in batches. If we got the e-mail then we’re definitely in. :)

^^^^ did you get the email? i didn’t get one yet.

^ You should try calling the office of ugrad. I believe they will release the info about whether you are accepted or not by now (but only to you). Your e-mail was probably lost in cyberspace or something. The cryptic e-mail is probably because they aren’t allowed to release anything official in any other communications.

i got the letter with the sticker today and still haven’t received the acceptance package (I live in Alabama)

I applied as a sophomore transfer student and I haven’t received any e-mail or letters yet. I was told we would only find out if we were accepted via e-mail. Do transfers find out later than regular freshman?

The purple folder arrived in today’s mail.

^good for college - I know you didn’t receive an e-mail, but you could use your netID and password to check in Albert to see what’s going on until you can reach Admissions on Monday. I assume if your name was on Katie’s mailing list, you’re in.

^Anapestic - Yes, you will receive a purple acceptance folder.

Congratulations everyone!

^goodforcollege - On another thread, I saw that you already checked your portal and that you have been waiting all week to hear back. I would definitely call the number Katie gave you and explain everything. You must be very frustrated, but as I said in the last post, I really think you’re in - there’s just some kind of computer glitch.

^^^ thanks for the help. i will be calling monday. another girl said she got the letter, and then a broshure the next day, welcoming her to cas. i just hope they didn’t make a mistake with me :O

I can’t wait for mine! Is it sent via Fedex or regular mail?

Okay, I’ll answer my own question - UPS delivers the packet (more of a folder)

^^^^i got a broshure for cas today!!!

From CAS? Awesome, so now I have two more letters to look forward to :D
