Letters of Rec - Please help!

<p>I've been on Commonapp.org for a while - and I'm applying to seven colleges. Now, on the CommonApp website, two of them require at least two letters of recommendation. Four of my colleges do not require Letters of Rec, but will accept them. And then the last one doesn't even give me the option of sending one in through the CommonApp website.</p>

<p>Now, I've already asked my counselor to do a general Letter of Rec that I'll send to all of the colleges that will accept one. I also asked one other teacher to write me a letter of Rec, and I was thinking I would send the letter to all the colleges too, until she asked me whether or not I wanted a general letter or a specific one.</p>

<p>I can't tell if I need a specific one - although it seems like the two colleges (Kenyon and Denison) requiring letters would ask for a specific one. I guess I'm just asking to see if anyone knows which colleges ask for specific letters of rec, and if I have a teacher write a specific one, will I still be able to send it to the other colleges that don't require letters? I don't want to end up with five letters and trying to sort through it all. I'd like to keep it to one counselor, and two teachers.</p>

<p>Get a letter from the counselor and general letters from two teachers, preferably math or science and english teacher. Send all 3 to all colleges. They can’t hurt. Don’t worry about sending college-specific letters. They don’t expect that from your teachers.</p>

<p>Okay, so I’ve run into another problem. I’ve been trying to invite my teachers/counselor to the commonapp online, but for some reason the e-mail won’t go through. I’m really confused and frustrated. Is there something I’m doing wrong? (I’m just clicking “Invite Official” and filling everything out and then saving.)</p>
