Rice only asks for one letter of rec from a teacher and another from your guidance counselor. Would it be a good idea to ask at least one other teacher to write a real letter and include that in your application along with the other two recommendation forms?

that's what i was wondering too

I only submitted what was required. If you've got two reeeeally strong letters from two different teachers, and they're both pretty equivalent, then you can consider submitting two letters, but I once heard a quote regarding college admissions, "The thicker the file, the thicker the student," meaning that if you're trying to foist as much material about you as possible on the AC, then you must be trying to make up for deficiencies in your basic qualifications.

Rice thinks they only need one letter from a teacher and one letter from a guidance counselor to make their decisions. I personally would leave it at that, but keeping all the factors in mind and weighing the fact that more is not necessarily better, you can decide differently.

if we're applying online using rice's individual form (and not common app), where is there a link for the teacher's recommendation form ?

Go to Rice homepage go to becoming undergrad go to get application go to apply online and it should be at the top of the page.
