Letters of Recommendation

Okay, so I have just begun my senior year and am starting to get my letters together to send. I am planning on majoring in theater/acting in college but am applying to audition and non audition schools. Some schools require letters from core subject teachers and others from performance teachers. Last year, I had my Honors US History teacher write me a letter for a summer program I was applying to. He said that he would be more than willing to update it and add more so I could send it to colleges the following year. So, I have one letter done. However, I do not know who to ask for the second one. I'm not extremely close with any of my other teachers, except my Honors International Relations teacher. However, that is considered a history class as well and I don't want to send letters from teachers of the same subject. I took AP Bio last year, but did not do extremely well in that class so I don't want to ask that teacher. I took Honors English 11 last year and maintained high B's, however, I did nothing significant in that class that I think my teacher could write about. I am mostly quiet in class and don't know who else to ask! Any help will be much appreciated.

I understand your problem. In some of my classes with 30+ students, our teachers can barely remember our names. I think the best way to have a better relationship with a teacher is to join clubs they sponsor… As long as you have an interest in them. If that’s not an option, drop by during lunch or sometime for “homework help” and just ask them some questions, talk to them about your interests, etc. And this is just me, but I think its better to have two stellar recs from teachers of the same subject than one really mediocre one.
