<p>How many does Rice University need, and from whom? How many does USC need and from whom?</p>
<p>This information is easily located on their respective websites, but luckily I’m applying to both of them and happen to know the information off the top of my head. USC requires only one, from either your counselor or a teacher, though more can be submitted if you want. Rice requires two: one from your counselor (the basic school report) and one from a teacher of your choice.</p>

<p>I’m still knew with the whole college admissions process (first generation student). Is the basic school report a transcript or is it a letter of recommendation where I have to tell them about myself, etc.?</p>
