Letters of Recommendation

Hey future CMU applicants/other CC members

Most of my friends at school are getting the recommendation letters from a math/science teacher and a social studies/english teacher. However, my strengths are in the sciences, and I'm quite confident that my physics teacher would write me a better rec than my english teacher (I have already asked my stat/comp sci teacher for a rec). Regardless, who did you guys get your recs from

Sincerely

An incredibly busy/anxious/nervous college applicant.

Honestly, I think you should just get your recs from the teachers that really know you and your skills. I applied ED and got both my recs from english teachers (not really related to my major). Also, I heard some advice from a CMU information session that I think is valuable. Each recommendation should bring new information about you to the table. Avoid getting two recommendations that provide the same stuff. Even though I got both recs from english teachers, one teacher was my club advisor that saw me working a lot outside of school.
