Letters of Recommendation

Who do the admissions officers usually like to see letters from? Ive heard guidance councilors and teachers, anyone else?

Most schools will require one from your guidance counselor. For schools that take teacher recs, you definitely should get at least one from a teacher, but ideally two- one from a math/science teacher and one from a english/history/humanities teacher. The key is to find teachers who know you well, so don't sacrifice quality for what I mentioned above, so if it means getting a science and a math teacher then that is your best bet versus asking someone who does not know you very well. Its usually also best to get teachers who you have had junior and/or senior year, because they remember you the best. But remember to check the requirements for each school you are applying to, because all schools differ (some require one teacher, some two, and some NONE). You should also consider an "outside" recommendation from a coach, religious leader, or someone else who knows you well outside the academic arena.
