Letters of Recommendation

Hi,
While this may sound stupid, I'm not really understanding the letters of recommendation process through the Common Application. I understand that once you've added a college you press school forms and then like give the email addresses of the teachers or something. But I'm confused because some colleges say that you need a counselor recommendation on their website but on the Common App it just says "Two teacher evaluations". Does anyone know how it works? Thanks

Hi, I am a bit of unsure of your question but my son had a problem with the teacher rec's with the common app. He is applying to 5 schools , 4 are common app schools and one is not. The schools all have different requirements regarding teacher rec's. Some want one only, others want 2 and others it is optional. Now he has 2 teachers doing rec's for him. His first is doing for all 5 schools, the 2nd is doing for only 3 of the 5. Now the teacher doing 3 wanted to submit them online, however, the common app site would not allow us to seperate the 3 schools (they wanted the rec sent to all 4). Contacted son's guidance office and he was told to submit rec's thru the mail rather then online if rec wasn't going to all common app schools. The say this is a glich with the rec's and the CA. Now the teacher doing all 5 rec's for him could have submitted them online, but he chose to do it thru the mail. All this seems so complicated sometimes. If you are unsure, use snailmail.
