Letters of Recs

Do colleges care how many letters of rec you send them?
If you send more but not too excessively is it better?
For example, USC only requires one letter either from a counselor/teacher
but can I also submit a letter to USC from a teacher as well as a counselor?
Will it improve my chances? Hurt my chances?

Thanks!

Yes, you may submit additional recommendations to USC, and they will consider them. They ask that you only submit additional recommendations if they add something not inckuded in your primary letter. In general, a teacher who has had you in class every day can add anformation about you that a counselor cannot, so an additional letter from a teacher may be a good idea.

Over the last few admissions cycles, many of the succesful applicants have submiited two or even three recommendations to USC.

Good luck!

Oh thanks a lot for the info!
Does this also apply to other private colleges using the Common app?
Like boston college, u. penn, carngie mellon, etc.?
