Collegeman,
Go away and stop trying to downplay the signaficance of some people's acomplishments on this forum. Many people with similar educational backgrounds as ours would be thrilled to go to a school such as Boston College, even if in your mind it doesnt compare to the "elite" schools including Harvard and Georgetown. I applied to Harvard ED, but after reading the pretentious posts coming from individuals like yourself, I am now less inclined to attend even if I do get in. You see, people like yourself just reinfoce the arrogant, elitist stereotype that exists with regard to the ivys. Myself, and if you read this thread carefully, many other people on this forum who were accepted have higher SAT scores, more EC's, and just as many AP's as some of the people who were accepted to the Harvard's, Princeton's, and Yale's. Some of us just didn't get lucky enough in the ultra-competitive admissions process there, and were reasonable enough to apply to a place like BC(unlike many people on this forum, who applied to only ivys assuming they'd get in to all of them) where we would have a slightly better chance of getting in. So please, if you're going to continue posting, stop being so negative and stop trying to make acceptees of this forum feel like they "only" got into the 37th best university(according to US News) in the nation. I'm proud to say that I am seriously considering BC over Harvard because of the equally talented, more humble, and and less obnoxious student body there.
