I got waitlisted too which was a suprise because I thought I was just going to be flat out rejected. I don't have good stats 1280, 3.875 GPA, decent activities, high AP scores, but thats about it. It's really weird what they are waitlisting/rejecting. Don't worry I sent in the postcard saying not to put me on the waitlist because I'm already going to URichmond, I hope anyone that was waitlisted gets in!!!

tothemaxbro - i go to unionville... near west chester and kennett square. 45 mins south of philly.

yea im trying to decide my next move. ah . how frustrating.

but in the waitlist letter they say:

"we will not decide if any students will be admitted from the waiting list until mid-May. we are not able to meet with any students on the waiting list during this time, and no information can be provided over the telephone. "

i dont know if i should still call them or what...

Also got the rejection letter...fwiw my stats were 1400/3.5 at tough Catholic H.S. vp of class, scholar-athlete in two sports; Eagle Scout. Many other EC's. Still working on USNA, CGA, Holy Cross and a couple of real stretches. BC has gotten too popular for the "borderline" kids like us. I had applied for Pol Sci btw which may be a factor.

Northern NJ- No letter yet!

Still nothing. I'm getting way too nervous...but I got into Nova today and URochester yesterday, so that lessened the pain. one02many, I go to Msgr. Bonner in Drexel Hill.

if you guys havent gotten anything... ur probably in.

yeah, im curious about 2 things. to those rejected: 1. what was your major? 2. where are you from (school/state)?

My major was communications, and I'm from NY, an hour north of the city. I got to a boring public school... just a regular one, and my guidance couselor wasnt best friends with someone at BC like everyone elses was haha.

Just received the mail in central jersey. Still no letter from BC.

thats the 3rd most popular major at BC, which probably played a big part in your getting deffered. so might political science. i applied bio, the 10th most popular, so it will probably hurt my chances too. (class of 2004 stats)

fierro2005, BC may evaluate on major, but most schools only look at the College you apply to rather than major. For example, I had my interview for Penn at my school (the guy came to interview me) and he had the application file with him, and I asked to see it. There was no spot for major, just college (i.e. College of Arts & Sciences) Then again, every school is different and really at this point, I'm not worried about chances, my fate is sealed in a letter somewhere by now, so if it works out, great, but if not it's their loss.

Long Island, New York and still no letter..thank goodness haha no news is good news in my eyes

waitlisted.....

3.7 gpa unweighted
1520 SAT I (760M/760V)

I have no idea what happened.....this is the first decision I've received and it kind of has me worried cuz BC was supposed to be a safety

see now that doesn't make sense.. collegeman i think BC must have thought that you were overqualified and weren't likely to attend.. my school doesn't do the whooe 4.0 avg thing, so I'm not familiar.. what is a 3.7 equivalent to?.. whatever it is I'm sure its still very good so I don't see how BC thinks they are going to get poeple with much better than your stats.. I wouldn't worry about it.. I guarentee you get into schools much better than BC.. and if you relaly want to go there, just write them a letter expressing your interest..I really don't know what's up with this school this year

i checked my aid status on their website and they said it was incomplete, so i called them immediately. if i was rejected/waitlisted would they still need my finanical aid info.? There was a problem with processing my fafsa, and i called to fix it. they said they with hold decisions until they get all the financial info., but why if one was rejected?!

where are you from collegeman? I don't understand why you weren't accepted!

I'm not trying to offend anyone, and I obviously don't (and can't possibly) know everything about any of you or your applications, but I think BC is looking for a lot more than just high scores and good grades. They have become a selective enough school so that they can afford to look at ECs and essays in addition to stats.
Good luck to those still waiting...

Accepted (live in MA). Yay! Am I the first??

Congrats ElectronicError! What were your stats?... I got waitlisted :(
