letters were sent out today, the 29th according to my regional director... we should be hearing in a two or three days

I called today and they said letters would be "mailed this week."

You're a little bit behind.

Letters were definately mailed today according to website and other callers.

now, the only question is, did they go out to the post office by 9 AM or by 5 PM, that makes all the difference (A whole day in travel time).. dun dun... either way, we should hear thurs/friday... I find it odd that tehy didnt send them over a weekend, because mail that travels over a weekend usually all arrives same day, because the mail moves on sundays but isnt delivered. Oh well, i guess we'll just all have to deal with hearing on differetn days.

As I said on the other thread, prospective students in Asia should receive a decision packet on the 1st or 2nd by courriered mail, worked out based on the 29th as the mailing date.

shrug I live in a chicago suburb so i'll hear very soon :D

I hope I'll hear Thursday since I'm on East Coast! Good luck to everyone!

We live about 2 blocks from the UC admissions office (and thus suffer from Hyde Park's SLOW mail sorting and delivery, particularly for packages), so we expect a letter on Wednesday (or Thursday) if it's bad news, and a package on Friday if it's good news (Northwestern took 3 days to arrive). I'll bet that the Chicago suburbs will be among the first to hear from UC. So we are hoping NOT to hear Wednesday because bad news tends to come quicker in Hyde Park.

I vaguely recall that the USPS is supposed to deliver 90% of first class mail within one day, but they do much worse around here.

Doesn't Chicago use Fedex?
Or does it even matter?
Too lazy to check...all the waiting's made a mess out of me...I was expecting to hear last saturday/monday

does chicago first send a letter and then a package?
thus far, i've received a bunch of acceptances in small envelopes, so i dont know what to think anymore ;)

their EA acceptance packet took 2 days to arrive to Ohio (large, thick envelope).

It took forever and a day to get to Manhattan (sent Tues., arrived Sat.). It's a large, white envelope with the phoenix emblem on it in grey, the paper is really nice, and the thing is sent first class. Worth keeping : )

has anyone received a rejection/waitlist email yet?
shouldn't that have already got to us by now.. if they sent it on the 29th?

"shouldn't that have already got to us by now.. if they sent it on the 29th?"

Seeing as noone has posted about getting a rejection e-mail yet (that I've seen), my guess is the e-mails are sent out to coincide with when they expect the letters to arrive, probably on the conservative end of that.

No, they'll wait until Thursday to email.

darn.. so i'll get it in bout 24 hours... ****...

I thought they didn't send out e-mails.

Only for international rejectees and waitlisted students...and only because they don't mail those first class.

Ok, so when do the emails get here?

Like I said three posts above, most EA deferees got an email two days after...so I'm assuming sometime Thursday for most, maybe Friday (so don't blame me if you think you're in and do get one).
