letters

What do the acceptance letters look like? Is merit aid mentioned in the acceptance letter? I bet nobody has received a rejection letter yet, so I won't bother asking.

Still waiting for admissions letter, but I did receive a postcard yesterday that said to schedule a campus vist...and that applications must be complete by mid January to receive an admission decision by February 15th. Wondering if all applicants received this card or if they are tipping their hat to those who they are admitting? Any help from past applicants (admitted or denied would be helpful). Thanks

Hmm, while I don't know about the post card and what it means, I do remember getting one, but I just assumed it was a general "we have received our application, thanks for applying" type deals.

As for the acceptance letter, Clemson is very cute! They send a big packet w/ "Congratulations!" written in a little tiger paw in the lower corner. Of course, I didn't see this until afterwards...I was home sick, and my sister handed me the envelope, which I opened from the back to see a viewbook that I thought was just more admissions information, until I looked at the enclosed letter, which started off, Congratulations!

Yes, the letter does detail your choice of major and scholarship information. Housing, Clemson ID # and other info. will be provided in the upcoming weeks.

Hope that helps :)

thanks jelybo

hit it on the head for what i was looking for!

Thanks, but I sent in my application the end of Sept. They have already said thank you and I thought that since I have not been on a tour that they might be giving me a heads up?? Anybody else get a postcard recently?

YARRRforteh_pirates, based on your SATs/ACTs and GPA, I think it is safe to assume that you will be soon getting a nice envelope w/ "Congratulations!" written on the outside too! :) My dad sat w/ the head of the architecture program (I think that's what you're into?) on his way down to Greenville, and said he was very nice! My dad also said that Clemson is the most beautiful campus he's ever been to (I still have another ~18 days to find that out for myself ;))!

Best of luck! :)

how do you knows my stats? I hope I get an envelope soon. I've been waiting awhile. The campus is beautiful, BTW. lots of trees (might not mean as much to you, but around here all I see is a couple oak trees off the highway, and some grass. mostly cement....)

nvm about the stats thing...i found that I posted them...

I get to see my new rank/GPA tomorrow. Probably will send in an updated one, since I pulled off a 100.7 Weighted GPA last semester. (not too shabby)

I'm scared about rank!

100.7 average, wow! I never had that, or really anything near that, and I still got in :) And I am sure that class rank won't hurt too much given your SAT/ACT scores (that would indicate your grades aren't inflated)...I think rank is only a major factor in determining who gets into Calhoun. :)

Just out of curiosity, and I get asked this all the time too, what attracts you to Clemson? I am not really sure what made me apply, other than the fact it seemed like a fun, down-to earth, yet academically strong safety...and the weather!!!

And yes, I see plenty of trees here to make Clemson look almost barren haha. Of course, in South Carolina, the trees are still alive and well, here they are all gray and dead :(

i don't remember how I first decided I would look into Clemson. But now that I have seen what they have to offer, I have a better idea. I didn't want to go north (frightened of boston and NY accents), couldn't go to midwest because they call coke pop. That also rubs me the wrong way. The weather at Clemson is a little less harsh than around here, so that's nice. People seem nice, alumni love the school (I went to an alumni watch party for the football game, it was cool, people had only good things to say). Graduates seem to do pretty well (financially). Most of all, I don't want a college in the city. Clemson was one of the best colleges that isn't in a huge city (traffic is an annoyance to me). But, at the same time Clemson isn't disconnected from society. Academics are strong, students seem laid back. Football and Ultimate are popular. Perfect match. It's just a waiting game...

new rank puts me in the top 18% of my class now, was just barely inside top 20% before...improved like 15 spots...not quite as much as I would've liked. Not bad at least

tikitom, I got the same postcard you did today. Probably doesn't mean anything.

Well YARR_I guess that means we are in! LOL Anyone else?

Son got his postcard last week. He is wondering what it means too. Is it a good sign or just something to send out to all those kids who applied last fall and are anxiously awaiting some news.

Same here for the postcard. Son got one, and his application was completed last fall. My co-worker has a daughter who was admitted last year (freshman now), and she got her decision about the 20th of Feb. I'm thinking the postcard was a reminder to all applicants that if they want a Feb. decision, to make certain all app. materials are complete..otherwise, the decision will come later in the spring.

My son applied in December & also recently received this postcard, however he has never received anything in writing that says his application is complete. He called the other day & was told it was complete. Did any of you receive anything in writing?

Nothing about application being complete in writing but i did call them to make sure. Good luck!

If I remember correctly, S did get a postcard saying they had gotten his completed application and decisions would be mailed in Feb. Clemson must love postcards!

They do. I get atleast one a month but still don't have a decision from them.

SFOD, stats?

GPA: 2.9
SAT: 1230
Couple APs
In State, legacy

I know my GPA doesn't wow anyone, but my school has a great track record with Clemson, so that 2.9 means something to them. I'd be surprised if I didn't get in.
