Hi Im going to be a junior next year. I dont even know if Im in the right forum but here it goes.

What has priority when colleges look at your application? For example Im sure that most Ivies automatically discard SAT's lower than 1800. Im I right? But will they discard GPA's lower than 3.9 etc? I know the magic that you can do with your essay and the importance of the EC's.

Also, does Cornell give financial aid to international students?

For one thing, application review processes vary very widely between schools. For another, almost every top private says that there’s no absolute score cut-off. For a third, I got into Harvard as a non-international with a 3.7 UW…but I go to a public school from which that really does mean something, and every other part of my application was great. Google “holistic college admissions.”

Thanks for your answers and your suggestion.

Yeah thats what I mean. You have a 3.7 UW GPA but the rest of your app is awesome. You get into Harvard. Would you get in if your SAT was a 1700 but the rest of your app awesome?
