Are there many gay students St Skidmore? D is gay and wants a small liberal arts school with an open-minded student body. Thanks!
LGBT youth are well represented at Skidmore, the school is accommodating, and the student body is open-minded. Not directly what you asked, but my trans son will be attending next year.
Skidmore is very LGBTQ-friendly 
I don’t know exactly how many gay/trans students there are, but there certainly are enough that your D should feel comfortable there. My D, a first-year student, has gay and straight friends. I think it’s pretty much a non issue.
My D is a student there and these comments make me happy to know she picked an “inclusive” school.
@NEPatsGirl , with all the stuff going on in NC and elsewhere, I have been grateful that DS will be matriculating at Skidmore. I expect it to be a great fit. He and DW were there for yesterday’s Accepted Student’s Day, and it was a success.
Congratulations for your son! My D is enjoying her first year there. We have found the administration (professors, financial aid) to be very accommodating and helpful in all aspects. So far, so good.
My son is a sophomore at Skidmore and has mentioned how happy he is that it simply doesn’t matter “what” you are but rather “who” you are… He is friends with all kinds of students and the labels from high school seem to have disappeared.
