LGBT Friendliness at Cornell

Hey!

I am really interested in applying to Cornell, but I was wondering if anyone could give me some more information about the experience of LGBT students. I’m sure that there’s some sort of club for LGBT students, but I want to know if it’s a very big culture on campus or if there are many opportunities.

If anyone has any commentary on what it’s like to be gay at Cornell I would love to hear!

I’m guessing it’s quite common, about half my D’s friends are gay. No need to join a club specific for that, but there probably are some if you feel the need. You shouldn’t feel out of place at all. It’s a huge place with all types.

I believe I read an article last year somewhere about Cornell being one to the top LGBT friendly schools.

This one perhaps?

I am a current student, and I can tell you that I have never been discriminated against, harassed, or even felt uncomfortable for being gay. There is also a pretty active LGBTQ+ community. I am a member of a club that is both a social club and a forum for discussion for members of the LGBTQ+ community who identify as male, and I love it.

Yes @skieurope that’s the one.
