i’ve heard that davis is a liberal, accepting, friendly environment that most definitely accepts the lgbt community. i’ve also heard that the lgbt scene–while existent–is not overwhelming. this sounds like the kind of lgbt scene i’d be looking for, so is this true?

Not overwhelming at all, but it’s there.

Yes, the LGBT scene in UC Davis is not overwhelming. There’s one gay fraternity and I think there’s also a lesbian sorority but that I’m not sure about.

Every year we have Davis is Burning, which is a drag show organized by UCD’s gay frat. It was sold out and it’s really so much fun :)

There’s also the LGBT Center near the MU which hosts plenty of events throughout the year.

There are plenty of LGBT students at Davis but they really just blend in with the crowd. People at UCD are very liberal and accepting and there’s really no discrimination that occurs. :)

I actually applied here because I’m passionate about LGBT causes and they seem to have a ton of opportunities to work on those issues. Also, one of my mentors told me that they had a whole week where they celebrated transgender awareness, so yeah, I would say UC Davis is very accepting :3

^thanks, guys! of course i see no bi-specific groups or events and most of them are for gay people, so that disheartens me, but that’s pretty much what it’s like at any college it seems. so far, only brown has had a specific club for bi’s. oh, well!
