L'Hopital's Rule

(I’m taking AB)
In my Kaplan AP Calculus Book,it says that L’Hopital’s Rule is a BC content. But in Limit questions, the Book uses the Rule a lot to solve them.Do I have to learn L’H. Rule?

If you think it would help to learn it then learn it.

I don’t remember any AB questions where we had to use L’Hopital’s rule - it can be useful in evaluating certain limits, but limits questions on the AB test should have an alternate solution. Of course, it always helps to know the rule and when to apply it.

It’s such an easy BC topic to learn. There is such huge benefit and little drawback to learning it, that it would be a shame if you didn’t watch a couple videos and work a couple problems with it. Very useful.

Most textbooks treat it as a calc 1 topic.

There is absolutely nothing difficult about it. As a TA I’ve only seen students have more difficulty with their trig identities than with taking a few derivatives.

^except rigorously proving L’Hopital’s rule, which can be a bit involved. But you don’t need to know the proof in Calculus BC.
