I would include the University of Richmond on this list too.

well what wuld be your hwole list

Rank them in terms of what? Academics? Sports? Quality of life? Admissions difficulty? Financial aid? I know you probably want some combination of several of these factors, but its different for everyone. Without knowing more all I could give you would be my personal order of preference, which would probably not be very helpful to you.

P.S.- If you take the time to type a little more carefully, people will be more likely to respond.

lol - i cant type -its jsut by how good you thunk teh school is overall - i know, its basically jsut personal preference

Anyone listing W&L in a group of anything with "liberal" in it is confused by the question.

OK, here's my personal list, but there really isn't that much seperating the top schools and for some people a school 10-20 down might be the perfect place.

Davidson and Bowdoin don't belong below Mudd and Colgate, and Reed deserves to be in the top 20 (at least).

well what woudl you boot for reed......and i think colagte is better than davidson

kemet is right, Reed should be in the top 20, top 10-15 probably. Also, it's spelled Grinnell, and it should be rated higher.

Honestly, how many times do I have to say it? I'm not claiming that this is anyone else's list- it's mine. I was reluctant to post because I didn't want to hear the inevitable complaints. As for Reed, it's a great school of a type that is very different from mainstream LACs. I agree that it's as good as many of those schools, but I wouldn't include it on a list for most people interested in looking at all of these other schools. That reasoning could certainly apply to Mudd or CMC as well, except that the Claremont college consortium somewhat makes up for those schools' narrow focuses.

i agree - reed is a very, very uniques socail scene

Good point. I ranked Mudd lower for a similar reason. It and Caltech cause problems. :p I merely thought it was odd that Reed wasn't on any of the lists so far, although it is in the top 5 (LACs and universities) for PhD per capita production.

really top 5 - whre si this list

I dont believe in individual rankings; I prefer to rank them in groups of peers:

Is it that difficult to spell the word "is" correctly?

Isn't "Liberal Arts College Rankings" an oxymoron?
