Liberal Arts Colleges Strong In Computer Science

Hey everyone,

I am an international student with a SAT score of 2120 and IB predicted grades 40/45. Please recommend me a few liberal arts colleges that are strong in computer science and give financial aid to international students.

Thanks

Trinity University

Not sure about aid to internationals, but look into: Lafayette College ¶, Union College (NY), Trinity College (CT)

For each school, check the junior and senior level CS course offerings for the following:

Algorithms and complexity *+
Theory of computation +
Operating systems *+
Compilers +
Networks *
Databases *
Software engineering *
Security and cryptography *
Computer architecture +
Electives like artificial intelligence, graphics, etc.

Concepts commonly used in industry software jobs

Recommended for preparing for graduate study in CS

Highly ranked colleges?

I know that Harvey Mudd is really strong in computer science.

Computer science is Greek to me (as is the IB system so I can’t tell how good your grades are…), but if Grinnell’s department sounds good to you based on the website:

A fabulous liberal arts college, very attractive school for International students (who comprise about 12% of the student body) and known for good FA and merit aid (not sure if merit is given to International or not).
There are threads in here about how to find schools generous with FA to international students. Start your search there, since that is more of a limiting factor than “LAC with good CS”.
