I'm searching for some other LACs to apply to. I am very fond of Macalester and Swarthmore; I'm looking to see if there are any other, somewhat selective, LACs that somewhat match the atmospheres at these two colleges.

Thanks!

What do you like about them beside selective LAC? Urban location? International students?

here’s a list (2nd section) of some the best, according to CC.

Try Beloit, Carleton, Grinnell, Oberlin, Reed. Not matches, but somewhat similar.

I really like the two because of their liberal atmosphere, urban/suburban setting, diversity, and strong academics.

Well, Carleton and Haverford are the two obvious ones, given that they provide similar atmospheres in close proximity, although they are also highly selective. Vassar is another option, and substantially less selective options might include Colorado College and Occidental.

^Second the choices of Carleton and Haverford, as well as Vassar and Grinnell. You also might like to look at Williams, Middlebury, and Amherst if you liked Swarthmore, and if oyu were looking for slightly less selective LACs (but still great schools), I’d recommend Hamilton, Bates and maybe Colby or Reed (this one reminds me most of Macalester in terms of student body).

Macalester, Grinnell, Kenyon, Oberlin, Haverford, Vassar, and Whitman all seem like similar/great options.

Lewis and Clark?
