Liberal Arts Colleges with best programs in history?

What LACs have exceptional programs in history? I am interested mostly in 20th century history (specifically American) and the American Revolutionary War. I am interested in all types of history though; whether it be Ancient Rome & Greece, China, Europe, etc. I would probably try to specialize in American history though. I know they're not a top flight LAC, but I am looking at Kalamazoo College. They seem to have interesting history courses, and as far as I can tell, the school has virtually no required classes, so a lot of experimentation is possible. Anyways, what LACs have the best history programs? I would probably double major with economics and try to get into law school eventually.

Any top SLAC is going to have a to have a good to great history department. SLACs focusing on undergraduate education focus on breadth, and they usually have their pick of the litter when hiring history professors. You might have to flip through the course catalogs to find out what kinds of classes are offered and how many of them are in American history (and the American Revolutionary period specifically). But note that college history is about breadth, not depth. You’re not selecting a graduate school, and for that reason many history departments recommend that you take classes in 2-3 substantive areas. You won’t be “specializing.”

Kzoo is a great college.
