Liberal Arts colleges with business?

Have you used the merit aid/financial aid/COA calculators that some of these schools provide? They will give you a good picture as to what the out of pocket cost will be for you. Portland provides one, see if the other s do.

That’s great! I will definitely let my mom know to try it out. thank you!

Santa Clara also has one. I won’t look for any others but you should. Good luck!!

Thank You!! :)

I’m SO biased, because I work for Mills College as an Admission Counselor… (laughing) But I also think that it might be something to look into!

Mills is a private, liberal arts college in CA with a very good English program. Based on your profile, I think you’d have a very good chance at admission, and possibly even merit scholarship.

i actualy have gotten an email from mills college  I definitely will look into mills… thanks!!!

Also, if you like American U, have a look at Catholic University. Similar academics to AU and they offered my niece a fulll tuition scholarship and a place in the honors coillege. Similarly, if you like USF and SCU, speak to adcoms at Loyola Marymount and USD to see whether there may be any financial aid or merit scholarships for someone with your stats.

Is an undergraduate business program the best option? According to as number of studies many business programs lack focus and rigor. The studies indicate business majors have the lowest gains of any major.

Appdad, if I were you, I would have your child get into the best school possible and major in economics within a liberal arts/arts & science program. The better schools typically feed kids into Wall Street and Fortune 500 training programs.

Babson College like many have said before is basically a liberal arts school with business classes. Sub 2000 undergrads, a very green campus with brick buildings, and division III Athletics. Bentley University I wouldnt say is very liberal artsy. Dont get me wrong it’s a great business school though it’s too big with close to 5000 undergrads to be put on the same playing field as schools like colby bowdoin babson which have 2000 undergrads.

Just my opinion…
-If you want business, go to a school that has a business program. While an econ major can lead to a good job, it does not provide the same type of coursework (accounting, finance, business law) that you will get in a business program. It really depends what you are looking for.
-Babson College, like Bentley University are both excellent schools. However, they are not traditional LACs because the main focus of both schools is business.
Good luck.
