Okay, so I am currently attending a community college to obtain a Liberal Arts Degree. My academic plan consists of transferring to a 4 year university outside my state after completing my liberals. My issue is I don't really know why I'm doing this. I am thinking of applying to USC after I have enough credits, but admissions to that school does not require an Liberal Arts degree. I am as of now, choosing classes in my CC that satisfy their recommended courses for admissions. I don't really see the point in trying to complete the liberal arts program in my cc? I also have other schools in California that I'd like to apply to, namely a few CSUs and UC. Would a liberal arts degree make the admission process easier?

Not sure about CA publics, but I think at some publics, it does help somewhat to have the actual 2 yr degree from an IS CC. However, at most schools, it’s more the coursework and number of units that’s important, not the degree.
