Liberal Arts... I guess?

At this point in my life I have absolutely no idea what I want to do with my life. Therefore, everyone suggests that I should go to a liberal arts college. Is this an accurate assesment or are there better options?

I think so.... I had the same problem my junior year. If you're not absolutely dead set on a certain career, a liberal arts school allows you to dabble in fields that interest you

Yeah, I would agree with age136. LACs also tend to be more nurturing and helpful than larger schools. At the latter, all else being relatively equal, will usually be more cooperative and less cut-throat than state u's.

Alright, thanks.
Now in terms of liberal arts colleges, which ones do you think would be worth visiting this spring?
I've already seen some (amherst, williams, brandeis, oberlin, colgate) and want to know some others that would be worth checking out in the Northeast/Midatlantic area. Perhaps some that are cheaper and/or more underrated, as money is a factor.

Dartmouth...not underrated, but by far the best LAC (and it is one)!!

Cube:

What are your stats?

LAC's down south are often overlooked but very good: try looking at Davidson (NC), Washington and Lee (VA), Sewanee (TN - Episcopal) and Centre (Kentucky)

Um.. I'm not exactly sure what 'stats' entails (sorry I'm a little ignorant to the admissions scene)
I'm a junior, 17 white male
According to my school, I have a 95, but I don't know how colleges look at grades
I havent taken the SAT yet (taking it this saturday), but on the PSATs and any practices I've taken, I got around 700 math and 740 verbal
I take a pretty rigorous course load, (2 APs last year (both 5s), 3 this year, 3 next year as well as IB diploma)
Pretty involved with extracurricular/ community service

Sorry, I'm not even sure what I should include here... um. Yeah. But I think I'm pretty solid academically

Then you're on the right track. Check out Carleton, Oberlin, Haverford, Wesleyan, Middlebury, Colgate, Colby, Bowdoin, Bates to name just a few.

Also look at Grinnell, Macalester, Occidental, Reed, Whitman, Sewanee, URichmond and Davidson.

There are many others that will fit your wants. Hang in there.
