Liberal arts schools with design/media studies majors?

I'm a rising senior and at this point I'm pretty sure I want to major in either design/media studies or psychology. I don't want to attend art school and limit my options; what I'd really like is a LAC with a strong art program and a design major or at the very least a selection of design classes with a media studies or communications major.

Here is what I'd really like in a college:

Small (<8000 students)
High teacher-student ratio; small classes
In an urban setting, preferably in or just outside of a large city (Boston would be great, or anywhere in Massachusetts really)
A strong art/design program
Fairly liberal
Preferably on either the East or West coast, but at this point I'm not too picky about location

Right now I'm looking at Tufts, Syracuse, Hampshire, Bennington, Northeastern, Suffolk (is this a good school?), Eugene Lang/Parsons dual degree program, Skidmore, Union, U of the Pacific, and Western Washington. Is there anywhere else I should check out? Thanks in advance for your help! (:

Pitzer has a media studies major, and they’re also strong in their art program

Occidental College has a media studies minor

Not sure but maybe Goucher (close to Baltimore), Drew (NJ), Bard (NY) and Sarah Lawrence (close to NYC). Best of luck!

Hmm, okay. Thanks.

Hampshire & Bennington are not really close to any urban areas. From Bennington, you could probably go to Albany, NY!
