Liberal Arts with Good Business

Hey, I'm currently a junior at a school in central Mass and like everyone else, looking at colleges. I currently have about a 3.4 UW/3.8W with some Honors and AP thrown in. Did pretty poorly on SATs (600 CR, 500 M, 600 ) but am getting a tutor. But I also have some great ECs like treasurer of class, MUN award winner at BU/MIT (honorabe mention) and US-UNA (best delgation), president of choir, active parishoner/musician, involved in volunteer organizations, NHS and JDRF walk. Looking at Marist, Stonehill, Providence, Saint Anselm's, St. Michaels, Bryant, Fairfield and Merrimack and Assumption. I will probably enter undecided no matter where I'll go, but I'm looking for a liberal arts schoolthat has a big concentration on business. I can't go to a full out business school because I'm still debating between business and polysci. Am I overlooking anywhere?

look at Trinity University. It is good LAC, but the most popular major is business. I don't think it is known in Massachusetts, but it is very highly respected in Texas.

Actually, I have a friend down at Trinity University. She was really bright. I would definetly consider it, but I'm positive my parents wouldn't let me go that far away. Thanks for the suggestion.

I see, is she currently a student there ? Look at the University of Richmond, a top LAC with a top business school.

Babson College

Thanks for the suggestion danhernan and yes my friend is currently a sophmorethere and loves it. URichmond has an excellent rep. from everyone I've talked to and I love Virginia in general. Thanks liek0806 as well, Babson's a great school, but I'm not sure if it offers a big liberal arts circulum.

Hey, just throwing it out there myself but what about Bentley? Does it have a good liberal arts school.

From my understanding, both Bentley and Babson are basically business schools. I doubt there is a huge emphasis on the liberal arts.

Washington & Lee, Bucknell if you are able to improve SATs.

Thanks guys, thats what I was thinking about babson and bentley. I would definetly love Bucknell, gellino, I just don't know if my gpa's high enough and it all depends on the sat's. I really wanted to look at dickinson too, but I know little about it.

University of Santa Clara. Great! (top 25) business school, fine liberal arts, beautiful campus, weather terrific, and your stats aren't far off.

Though a business school, there are liberal arts at Babson. Take a look at their sample 4-year outline:
<a href="http://www3.babson.edu/UG/academics/Dean/upload/UG_CurrGuide07_4yrsheet.pdf%5B/url%5D">http://www3.babson.edu/UG/academics/Dean/upload/UG_CurrGuide07_4yrsheet.pdf</a></p>

There is a fair bit of room for liberal arts courses towards the end of your time there. So it isn't 100% business. And the concentrations reflect this, with such non-business choices as "Ethics, Philosophy and Culture" and "Historical and Political Studies" among others. In other words, it might be worth a second look.

Personally, I applied there as a freshman, but passed on going, because I dislike their educational approach. But it is a great choice for the right kind of person.

Thanks for the suggestions gprime and mini. Unfortunetly, mni, mom and dad won't be up for me going to California for college. Babson sounds like a great idea.
