You have to trash the Democratic Party for the way they handled the 2004 election. It takes a complete baboon not to beat a president that led us into an unpopular war and had a popularity rating of less than 50%. That baboon was Kerry! Heck! Jesse Jackson would have done better!

I am a liberal in many ways (mostly on social issues) and although I supported the Democratic Party during the 2004 election, I agree with egghead that losing to Bush was a shame.

But the way the Bush campaign used homosexuality and abortion to rally the Southern vote was cheap, but brilliant.

hey i thought i would start this thread up again. anyone up for discussion??

I'm a liberal in all ways conceivable and I think Kerry should have done much better....

Yay liberals. :)
I think someone should knock some sense into the American population. If you think abortion=murder, then don't have an abortion. If you think same-sex marriage is wrong, then don't marry another guy if you're a guy or a girl if you're a girl. There's no need to impose your views on other people.

BTW, I'm pro-choice and I support same-sex marriage rights. It's none of my business. If the church thinks it's wrong to marry two men or two women, then they can get married in a country club.

My middle name is Democrat. Lefty for life. LMAO I just had to say it.

kudos to ihateCA.
I completely agree with you!

i also completely agree with ihateCA. people need to stop imposing their views on people with different opinions and lifestyles. i just think that people should be able to do what they want. if they don't want a baby i don't see why they can't have an abortion. its better that they have the option and can have it done safely, IMO. also, if people love eachother and want to spend the rest of their life together, regardless of gender, i think they should be able to get married.

seriously. the goverment should not have any say in what a woman chooses to do with her body. furthermore, even if abortion is illegalized, women will still be getting them done, so wouldn't it be a lot safer if they were being performed correctly, in a safe environment by people who know what they're doing, instead of well..the spoke method?

exactly how i stand. quite frankly, i dont think conservatives have a response to this.
all they can do is whine about how life is holy and as soon as sperm meets egg human life is created and sacred.

BUMP

Yay liberals. :)

The DUBYA completely destroyed Kerry . Go Texas! Go Republicans!

And Kerry ran one of the ****tiest campaigns since Bryan of 1900, so it is not surprising that the other candidate won. Of course, although Bush himself may be doing well, his underlings suck-Cheney and Rice in particular.

The republicans were brilliant in 2004! They had the liberals heads a spinning.

I APPROVE the handling of the Iraq War. The military invasion of Iraq was truly brilliant in many of its tactics. Removing a tyrannical dictator who used weapons of mass destuction on its own people is truly a glorious day. People now in Iraq are able to vote in a democratic system. Only a fool would discredit the Iraq war.

I approve most of the principles of the Iraq war, with the exception of the Halliburton and the Abu Ghraib scandals-that is why I said Cheney sucks: he runs when the **** comes back to him and is quick to either deflect it on to someone else (the current leak problem) or table it (all discussions of contract fraud and mishandling).

excuse me... when did they ever find any weapons of mass destruction?

Hmmm? Al gore and John Edwards or Cheney. Ooh, Ooh, I pick Cheney! What has Condy Rice done to you?

To say that the Democrats lost because Kerry led a poor campaign is ludicrous.
I am so proud of America; they plugged their ears from idiots rhetoric like Michael Moore and the liberal news media and chose the right president for a change. And ya know what? Were going to beat Hilary too, because Republicans rule!

CowTipper,

Hussein used nerve gas against thousands of his own people in the 90s. He even funded terror organizations including Al quida. Are you saying that Saddam was a noble man? LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL, he was not! :)

Michael Moore was a demagogue, but so were Stephenson and Limbaugh.
Hussein did not found Al Qaeda; however, he probably supported at some point. Al Qaeda was a Saudi invention, backed primarily by Saudi nobility-and IMO that is the country we should be bombing next. Sadly, our oil ties will prevent that, which is why we need alternative sources of energy.
And finally, it has been proven that Hussein, has had WMD: take a look at the Iran-Iraq War of 1980 or the Kurdish incursions in 1990.

i know that there have been previous cases of WMD. i was speaking about the WMDs that we never found in this war.

Where did Justinian I say that? He said the same thing I just said above.
