me talking here is like trying to win a 1 legged a$$ kicking contest, theres just no point in trying.

Awww... nice knowing your views lol

so........gay marriage????..........

All for it, I live in SF and was at City Hall when all the weddings were takng place, it was so happy and fun. The couples, from old, to young, with kids, with grandkids, with moms and dads, it was amazing. Some couples had been together 30 years, or more. I have no problems with gay marriage.

And doogie, I wasn't being mean, I really want to know why we are in Iraq. i have no clue why we are there. Seriouslly. I have some ideas...

We are in Iraq to spread democracy there.

Yea I live in Mass. (The Gay State) so I wholeheartedly agree with it. I think this prejudice is very similar to the prejudices against women and blacks in the past. Eventually there'll be another movement, and we'll look back and think how could people be so close minded as to propose a constitutional amendment banning marriage for homosexuals.

............................

Have you seen the Current Channel Yet? It is really fun

and buzzflash.com
huffingtonpost.com

just for a fresh look at the news

no i have not

What gets me is when homophobes proclaim that homosexuality is a choice! I have a gay friend with whom I have discussed this issue many times and I can assure you he can't choose whether he is heterosexual or not. It is a genetic characteristic, one you can't change by saying "Today I'm going to like girls and not boys..."

exactly, rhs, that bothers me too. And even if they could choose, which they CANNOT, it's not like being gay is a bad thing anyway.

agree with both of you. very few people- if at all- would just choose to be gay, considering all the hatred towards gays in the world. to say that homosexuality is a choice is ridiculous. i have a gay friend who tried turning straight, and she said it was the most miserable experience of her life.

if its genetic then in the case of identical twins both would be the same sexual orientation in 100% of the cases. the problem is thats far from true; thus sexuality cannot be based fully on genetics

so, iraq has been argued to death but keeps coming back, cant argue the economy because its status cant be agreed upon, abortion is beating a dead horse, gay marriage is in the same boat, SS and medicaid seem to be the best option but i can see that devolving into a flame war quite quickly so lets cut it off at the knees and see where that takes us? :D:D:D

well i definately think there is a genetic correlation, but que, you raise a good point. there is a high concordance rate among ident. twins, but it's not 100%. maybe a combination of genetic and environmental factors? who knows...

or we could talk about the environment? but I am going to bed in a little while...so we could pick this up tomorrow. W/e

and Iraq keeps coming back, cause gee, we are still there, even though the war was declared over long ago..

And none of those issues is dead,,, far from it, unless you live in a cave

You want fresh, lets talk about Delay, Abramoff, and rest of the gang...

Good Night. I'll be back tomorrow. I actually do hope Doogie comes back, because it's fun to debate issues with conservative minions (sp?) of GWB. I also like being right lol. Bye!

ahahhaahahaa... when all else fails, talk about the environment!
global warming, anyone?

Is anyone else watching Gore TV? It's so cool, now my media is even more biased than before!

anyways... yeah Hillary is going to run in 2008... thank god... John McCain can finally kick her @$$ so we don't have to hear her annoying voice again...

atomicfusion, all we're trying to do here is have a civilized debate. if you really feel the need to be so rude, at least tell us why you have these opinions, instead of just bashing us.

I can't even believe how easily people are persuaded by things like farenheight 911. Let us all use some logic here. We are fighting a war on terrorism, but also trying to make sure we protect ourselves from other attacks. Iraq had sanctions and was supposed to have let weapons inspectors in. Now I don't even know how many times the weapons inspectors would be there looking around when all of the sudden Saddam would say "get out." Now they'd leave after being threatened, there would be more sanctions, and eventually they would be let back in. Now doesn't that sound just a tad bit sketchy to some of you? Maybe, just maybe Iraq was hiding something, and they wanted to move it away from where the weapons inspectors were looking. Why else would they do that several times? Saddam may be a pyscho, but he isn't stupid, he doesn't want heavy sanctions put on him when he could just let these guys look around. Iraq should have been taken care of during the Clinton presidency. Instead we were soft, which sends the rest of the world a message like this "hey we can do what we want, and America will only threaten/sanction us, but won't actually do anything about it." That is the same logic that lead us to not doing something about Osama sooner. After some of his other terrorist activity, something could have been done, but the same people that blaim Bush for the war in Iraq were saying it was unnecessary to get involved.

Also with the weapons of mass destruction, again, we didn't have any weapons inspectors in there. We gave Iraq a lot of notice that we would be coming in there if they didn't. Doesn't anyone think they would have gotten rid of these weapons in this time?

I think everyone "hates Bush" because it is the cool punk rock liberal thing to do. No one has any basis for this other than the idiotic logic behind farenheight 911 or laughing at him messing up on a word. I don't see why no one wants to get involved in foreign issues anymore. Does anyone remember WWII. The US held out of fighting for far too long. If we had waited any longer, we all may be living (or not living) in Nazi Germany. I believe in prevention. Once you let a situation get too out of hand, it can become a major threat.

Also may I add, do you realize that Bush has advisors who tell him what to do in many cases. Would it really have been that much different if someone else were president? Chances are they both would have done the same things based on the intelligence gathered from the CIA.
