Life after Rejection, where to apply?

So, i got rejected from Northwestern ED, and im devastated...here are my stats...will they get me anywhere?
ACT: 29
SAT: 1330, 600 on writing
GPA: 4.588 (weighted)
Rank: 9 of 704

I'm looking into Notre Dame, but i dunno if that will be a lost cause. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks so much!

whoa ****, your like top 1.5% and you didn't get in? Did you like not do any EC's at all? I guess your SAT is a bit low.

Notre Dame: Slight Reach/Match (much closer to match; slight reach would be because of low acceptance rate)

Where would you like to go (location)? I'd try looking into Univ. of Michigan and Univ. of Wisconsin.

anywhere except for the south. I definitely dont want to go to an out of state public school though

Yeah I'm surprised you didn't get in, maybe cause of EC's or essay...but I think you'd get into ND

What is the problem with a "public school"

However, with those stats, you will get into atleast one of the "elite privates" possibly a lower ivy assuming you can bring that ACT up (31+)

It's the thought process of the majority of the people on these boards. They feel that publics aren't as good as privates (completely untrue).

why is ur SAT so low in comparison to your grades, do u go to a reallly bad school?

i guess lol, its a public school in chicago's burbs. buttt, i guess im a bad test taker? im retaking my sat's and acts one last time. i know with a little bit of preparation, i can improve them

How about Lake Forest?

You mean wake forest? That would be a nice choice.

No, I meant Lake Forest, a private college in Chicago. She'd get nice merit aid there, but I see from her other thread that she's looking for larger universities.

What do you want to major in?

With that kind of score, i think she should aim a bit higher?

try nyu, you have plenty of time left

your GPA is through the roof!

i plan on majoring in psychology...
any ideas? i've already applied to notre dame, but maybe i can get lucky at some other prestigious schools

Macalester - Jan. 15
Case Western - Jan 15
Smith - Jan 15 (assuming you are female)
U of Rochester - Jan 20

hey im in a burb of chicago. u know park ridge?? yeah u do...

Definitely suggest NYU or Macalester, as commented above. Boston U I would imagine as a match school, the SUNY schools? Of the SUNY schools, I would especially recommend Geneseo or Binghamton, if you're interested... You should really check out the Princeton Review website and use their "Counselor-O-Matic," it's great for hooking you up with choice schools that match you well.

Notre Dame is a hard school to get into, and VERY OVERRATED... A lot of my friends regret going there, mostly because they have a hard time getting into any grad schools...
