Life as a student athlete

Any recruited athletes posting? Former athletes? Being recruited for sport. Class '16. Applying this week. Presume "likely to accept" letter will be forthcoming. Still getting info, but mostly from coaches right now. All is rosy and wonderful from their side but wondering about other viewpoints and what it's like to be a Harvard student athlete. + and - comments fully welcomed.

Maybe repost your question here?

Several of my buddies were FB recruits at Yale. They seemed to handle things well. Really enjoyed their time. They felt really integrated w/the rest of the school as well. Probably a combination of the atmosphere and the type of people they were.

^Thanks for the tip. Missed that CC link.

My S in a freshman recruited athlete. I have to say he really loves both Harvard and being part of the team. It is stressful to balance 3 hours of practice a day, academics and traveling with the team, but I know he feels he made the right choice in Harvard. Also, I think it is great that while he really likes the guys on the team, he has also made good friends with non-athletes who live in his dorm. Good luck!
