What is it like to be a transfer student and an out of state student at the same time? Is it hard to make friends? Especially when everybody already has their group of friends made already. I'll be going through recruitment to join a sorority so hopefully that will help me make friends. But aside from that, any advice??

You’ll find people who share similar interests/outlooks in your classes because you’ll be past most if not all the freshmen cattle herd classes and onto your major specific focus. Joining any campus orginization is the next best way to make new friends, doesn’t necessarily have to be a sorority, though that is the most socially outward choice.

When I transferred, the school actually had meet-ups in the beginning of the year for all transfer students. I met two other girls in my program and we actually all ended up being pretty good friends. They weren’t my closest friends, but I think most schools try to at least help you start out by meeting people in a similar position to you. If they don’t offer transfer-specific gatherings in the beginning of the year, I would consider going to one specifically for freshmen. They might be a little younger than you, but very few of them are going to have established friend groups.
