My dd is interested in the Human-Animal Bond program at Carroll but has reservations about attending a school that is religious (i.e., Catholic in this case). Can anyone recently involved with Carroll comment on how much the Catholic-ness of the campus dominates student life especially for students that are not religious or come from other faiths? Thx.

Her other reservation has to do with the weather. She doesn't want to be somewhere that is horribly cold and she has visions of single digit temperatures for months on end. Can someone talk about what the weather is like in Helena during the school year? Thx.

Carroll has a web cam and lists the weather so you can see for yourself how the weather is by checking in there.

I can’t say for sure how religious it is there, but when we visited it did not seem overwhelmingly so in the least.

It was a very friendly environment however.

Son decided he wanted a more engineering oriented school but he liked it there. And the food was very good (leave it to a boy to have that be high on the list)

I would say it is worth a visit, especially if she wants that program. Not too many places offer it.

Thanks for your suggestion on the weather cam. I’ll be checking it frequently!

tikikik: Like # theorymom’s S, my daughters were interested in Carroll but ended up elsewhere. They were also interested in the HAB program. I suggest you or even better, your daughter get in touch with one or more of the bloggers or student ambassadors listed on the home page.

You/she can get in touch with them through the admissions office. I found the admissions office to be exceedingly supportive and helpful. They answered emails and questions promptly and were always friendly.

Re the temps: I checked that webcam on a daily basis lol and I was concerned about thetemps for my California girls too but I was reassured by noting that the days are mostly sunny and also by one of the bloggers who said that there is a ton to do indoors during the bitter cold days.

Even though my girls both chose other campuses, my son will be encouraged to look at Carroll too
