Life at Downtown PHX Campus?

My daughter has been admitted to the Cronkite School for Fall 2017, and I’d like any thoughts on whether students there get the full ASU experience as their counterparts in Tempe. While we appreciate the opportunities she’d get in that program, we also want her to feel a full part of he ASU community. Other messages here have touched on this in the past; would love new input, please. Thanks!

In some ways, attending the downtown campus opens up more of the metro areas. Not only is the downtown campus, all the new apartments / living options new and outstanding, but right around the campus is a growing creative area that Tempe students might not explore fully. The Downtown students are a short light-rail ride to downtown Tempe and campus for hanging out, events, games, additional classes. Really nice, showcase campus downtown, and much of the innovation ASU is known for. Obvious downtown PHX location for proximity to all the PHX media job opportunities.

Hey there, @SoCalSkylines! I am a Freshman here at ASU, on the Downtown Campus!! I LOVE it here. I did a Summer Program my Junior year here at the Downtown Campus, and that’s what helped me decide to be on this campus. One thing to consider, especially because she is in Cronkite, is that here downtown is where the Cronkite school is, so she will have the entire access to all things related to the school of Journalism and Communication, because she is already here. Journalism majors are obviously the biggest population here, so she won’t have any issue meeting people or getting involved! If you have any other questions about ASU or being on the Downtown Campus (B Town D Town for us Barrett folks  ), you can always message me!! Congrats on her admission!!!
