I am a senior at Hofstra University. Over the past 4 years here Hofstra has grown to be my second home. Everyone on campus is so friendly and eager to help you out. There are so many things to do like sporting events, clubs to join, and places to go on Long Island and also in NYC! There are trips you can go on with the university, or just with a group of friends. I love going to Hofstra and am so glad I choose this to be my school!
I don’t go to Hofstra-- and didn’t-- but I could walk there from where I am right now. So I’ll add in:
– it’s 5 minutes from Roosevelt Field mall
– its next door (literally) to the new Nassau Colliseum. Sporting events, concerts, etc
— it’s down the block from Eisenhower Park , with golf courses and the aquatic center
– it’s 15 minutes from the gorgeous south shore beaches, like Jones Beach
– it’s 40 minutes by train from midtown Manhattan.
– local chain restaurants in the neighborhood include Buffalo Wild Wings, Cheesecake Factory, PF Changs, TGI Friday’s, Applebees, Friendlys…
— the nearst, though not cheapest, hotel is the Uniondale Marriot. It’s on the other side of the Colliseum.
I don’t know about transportation…public transportation isn’t real plentiful around here, so a car might help
I am currently a Sophomore at Hofstra and I know this may sound cliche, but this past year has been the best year of my life. Since it is a Liberal Arts school I have been able to get involved with so much, from the On-Campus Radio Station to even an acapella group. I have grown so much as a person over the year and I can’t wait to see who I will be after the four years. Hofstra is my home and I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.
