How is the college life there? I am applying there and would like to know! Thanks alot!

A&M is a good place. school pride is incredible and may even be overwhelming at times, especially now that they've squeezed back into the top 25

probably a good amount of drinking, like at any college, but theres so many people that you can do whatever you want im sure. college station is kind of a crappy town, but its not awful. UT is much better location wise

and texas the state just rules

A & M is the kind of place you really want to visit before you agree to attend. We live around Dallas, so we know a number of students who love it, and a few who really hated it and transferred out. It's a good place, but has a distinct personality which is great if you fit in, and hell if you don't.

The students who love it say something like "It's impossible for an outsider to understand, and impossible for an insider to explain." So, take a good long look before you attend.

just dont help build the bonfire, and u'll be fine

that's uncalled for, have some respect please

Yeah, I have to agree with oldhoo - the kids I know that love A&M LOVE A&M, but it is only for a certain kind of folk, if you know what I mean. You're either an Aggie or your not. But, that's not to say you won't like it - I would recommend visiting before you decide though. It is generally quite conservative - probably the most conservative of the big "Texas 3" (A&M, UT and Tech), so I am sure you will find people who don't drink or constantly party, if that's what you're looking for. It is kind of self-contained in that it isn't really in any sort of town/city, so College Station is where you live. Although I am from Texas, I don't actually GO to A&M, so you might be able to get more help in their thread.

where is thier thread....?
in the colleges thread???

I LOVE this college. Exept for how conservative it is. It's not that I'm a republican-hater, but that fact one of their schools is named after George Bush (the first) kinda scares me.
