Life at the University of Texas..help?

Okay, so I am not going to be attending UT this upcoming school year BUT I would like to know what to expect for my sophomore year.
1) Since I am skipping my entire freshmen year at UT, would that mean friendships will be harder to make sophomore year since people of my class will probably have already established close knit circles?? Has anyone else experienced this or am I just being paranoid??

2) If I can make a high enough GPA at the university I will be attending for my first year and have great recommendations/extra-curriculars...can that qualify me for an academic scholarship when I transfer to UT? Do people who transfer in even have academic scholarship opportunities? Do I sound really ignorant and clueless right now?

3) And will taking all my basics for the first year at an easier, smaller university be a smarter idea than to take them at UT? Does that leave less challenging courses for my upperclassmen years when I should be applying to Graduate school? I know Graduate school admissions officers probably frown upon high GPAs from bird courses...

I really REALLY appreciate thoughtful responses. Any response will do! Especially from UT students :)

So, if I understand correctly, you’re basically going to another university for your freshman year, then transferring to UT-Austin for the remainder of your college career?

A big school like UT probably has groups and programs set up specifically for transfer students. I would look into these when you transfer, as they’ll be composed of people just like you who are eager to meet people at their new school.

Yes, sorry if I made it seem confusing…
bump?
