life at University Park?

hey azsummer- im going to be a communications major too, and i went to an open house on monday for accepted communications students at penn state. i was really concerned about internships too, esp because im also looking at maryland which is right outside of dc. however, i was really surprised by how much they push internships in the communications department. the man who runs the internship office solely for the communications department says he wants every student to have 2-3 internships before they graduate. they have a program where you live in dc for a semester, intern there, and take a class and stay on top on credits. he also encourages students to do other internships during the year and coordinates them so you can get credits. and, of course you can do internships during the summer. anyways just wanted to pass the info on because i know i was really concerned about that but the guy seemed really really on top of it.
