Life is a neverending game of school. :(

Anyone here plan on going to Grad School after college? Here's a better one: anyone have a plan to go to school after Grad School to get your PHD?

I am. At least to get my masters. I’ll decide on a PhD after that. School isn’t that bad at all.

:p

You don’t feel burned out? Haha.

I think I want to continue school after college as well but I’m not so sure though.

What will happen when you finish college? Grad school? Get a phd? No more structure. No more challenges set for you. You will be on your own. How will you know what you should do without professors? Life won’t be like school for very long. At least in school, you know what you must do to keep up. So, “Without the challenges from school, I choose to challenge myself.”

trust me. once you start working, you’re gonna wish you were back in school.

I hope to get my PHD. I want to do documentaries:)

well, I’m going to skip the extra years involved in getting a masters and go straight to MD/PhD, although I suppose that still turns out to be around 8 years, hahah

I’ll likely go to grad school but not immediately upon graduation. I wouldn’t say I’m burned out or anything right now, but I am getting anxious to graduate.

I plan on getting 2 doctorates. Why? I plan to be a research scientist and a professor. I will be researching interdisciplinary subjects.

If you don’t like school, then stop going to school! There are tons of successful people who finished with a BA/BS, and plenty more who don’t even have a HS degree… that’s not the norm though.

Still, you in no way need a Masters or a PhD to be successful. A higher degree is more a back-up if you fail.

^^^But those are one in a million. Society definitely rewards those who have a college and higher degree than those who don’t.

That’s not true at all.

There are plenty of people who are wildly successful with only a college degree. Even looking at only high school graduates, success stories are FAR more common than one in a million. You don’t need a degree to start and grow a business.

Idk. I feel the further you go with education, more doors are opened for you.

^ No, actually. You become overqualified for many, many jobs.

I agree that more education is generally better, but if you happen to be someone who strongly dislikes school, other paths to success exist.

I’m planning to get a Master’s, because it is required for what I want to do (school counseling). Even if that wasn’t what I wanted to do specifically, I’m going to be graduating with a degree in psych so I don’t have a whole lot of options. :P
