Hi! I am an incoming junior and high school and beginning to look at colleges. I started crew this January so have been rowing for 1 and a half seasons with a 2k at 7.57 but hope to lower it down to 7.40 by the end of the summer. I have a 3.8 GPA with many honors classes and APs in my future and a few other extra curricular activities. Weighing in at around 125 lbs. I hope to get recruited as a light weight rower to an East Coast school.

I was wondering if anyone had any insight on the lightweight women's rowing programs at places like Harvard, Princeton, and Georgetown (my top choice)? Thank you so much!

Looks good! Do you have any test scores back yet? AP scores? Sat 2s? So far looking good.Keep the GPA up and keep on the erg!

No SAT scores or AP scores yet, am just going into junior year. Do you know anything about the erg scores of lw recruits at Georgetown?

I do not know the erg score but I have a feeling that if you have the stats academically then your erg will be fine. I think those stats are more important!!! You also need to go to rowing camp next summer!

A LWT rower from our team this year was recruited to HP and G at 125 lbs, 7:40 2K. Her GPA was 4.2 at the time of recruitment and her SAT was 2040. SAT 2s were 760 and 770. She says the erg had to be at 7:45 to be considered, but the lower the better.

What is your unweighted?

Rowmom’s post seems to match with information I am getting from other sources.

I think for a true lightweight, a sub 7:45 2K gets interesting to the coaches as long as your academic profile is not at the bottom of the “range” that the coaches will tell you they are able to support.
