**** it, DO IT! We only live once

head scratch

And while we’re at it, why not a dislike button too? :p

I have a great idea. Why don’t we just replace the forums with a Facebook group?

itsmylife99 - no dislikes man!! That would be a form of cyber bullying.
HarryJones - How is this facebook?? Adding a like button gives CC another dimension.

Note to moderator - Is their any possibility of this happening?? Or am I wasting my time??
Please answer.

There are many posts that I “like.” However, I am not going to make a single post to say “I like what you wrote” or “I agree.”

I like Bigwig’s post.

Actually, the College Admissions forum DOES have a thread rating system. It hasn’t gotten a lot of use, so we haven’t rolled it out to the whole community. It’s more like a Netflix rating than a “like/dislike.”

What do you all think of that system?

And, speaking of Facebook Like buttons, we’ll soon have one of those on our pages. (Currently, we do have social sharing links, but they are a little different and are kind of buried at the bottom of the page.)

I presume you are referring to the ‘Recommend this thread’ button.
Its a great feature. I just did not notice it.

Also, I was not referring to sharing the posts on facebook, rather I was suggesting that each post on a thread have a ‘Like’ button or something of that nature.

I’m for it. Really adds a lot to sites like NYT, Huffington Post, and Joystiq. Could be an awesome addition for CC.

While we’re at it, let’s get our pictures under our usernames and let’s add signatures.

“Liking” is just a popularity contest and a lot of times people get offended when people don’t “like” things they post. Bad idea. It’d be more efficient, to say, give Senior Members the ability to designate certain posts as “highly informative” or something like that.

ok so don’t call it like.
call it a ‘recommend’ button or something. I just said ‘like’ because its easier to relate to it.
