Like the Residential College of Arts and Humanities...

but in a warmer climate?

My daughter loves the MSU Residential College of Arts and Humanities but would really like to attend college outside of Michigan, and preferably in a warmer climate. Finances are an issue, so she would be looking at a college that offers significant merit aid (at least enough to get cost down to that of our instate public, MSU.) Any suggestions on something similar to RCAH but in a warmer climate?

"The Residential College in the Arts and Humanities (RCAH) at Michigan State University is an innovative living-learning degree option designed for students who want to combine a small-college experience with the resources and opportunities available at a major university.

The RCAH is home to individuals with diverse interests, skills, and talents. Our students:
have a passion for civic engagement.
engage in literature, history, ethics, the visual and performing arts, and the study of languages and cultures.
chart their own path with ongoing advising and career development support.
value individual expression, exploration and achievement.

In the RCAH, students have the opportunity to live and learn together, engage in the arts and humanities through experiential learning, focus critical attention on the public issues we face, and build community within and beyond Snyder-Phillips Hall."

I would look through this thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/financial-aid-scholarships/1348012-automatic-full-tuition-full-ride-scholarships.html

Many smaller liberal arts colleges offer merit aid that may bring the COA close to what you would pay at your state university. As a starting point, I would suggest the books by Lauren Pope, Colleges that Change Lives and Beyond the Ivy League. The descriptions should help you to match what you are looking for in a school.
